Well, we’re still “recovering” from the colorful and engaging shopping binge of our first Saturday in Casa Cenina
… And we’re already planning our third one, on the 5th of November, making us twice proud! The reason for this is clear: we’ve thought of somehow “breaking” the tradition, according to which November is the foggiest and gloomiest month of the year (and that’s the first reason to be proud!), lighting it up with the creativity and the smile of one of the best-known cross stitch designers in the word, who’s fully Italian (and that’s another reason to be proud!).
She’s Paola Barello
, born in Turin and “grown” abroad for love
This lady of our “domestic” cross stitch (though internationally renowned in countries such as France and in many other European countries) lived in her home town till the middle Seventies, then she followed her husband’s business trips, without giving up the firm idea of creating her own family. She traveled the Americas virtually highways and byways with her family (her two children, both well grown up now, were born in Brazil) and she fed her creative flair with a number of flavors, colors, customs and traditions, reproducing them – with a unique personal mark and taste – in her cross stitch charts, once she had come back to the Old Continent. Of course, her traveling inspiration has been inspiring her fantasy ever since and so, in Europe too, Paola has taken part in a lot of trade fairs and exhibitions.
Here at Casa Cenina, she’ll be the protagonist of our first November Saturday, in the sing of Christmas! Oh yeah: Christmas “already”, ‘cause it’s never to early to think of the most magical Season of the year… As stitchers know very well
Actually, Paola hasn’t completely disclosed the details of her demonstration to us either… Though she’s definitely given us a lot of clues, which we’re more than happy to share with you: everything is going to focus on the creation of Christmas decorations – delicate though impressive – for our homes! And Paola is definitely a master in this kind of cross stitch, since the themes and colors typical of Christmas have always been her specialty. Just take a look at her items here
and see that her Christmas mood highlights many of the elegant works of this designer, who loves expressing it in the most different ways: biscornu, berlingots, traditional embroidery patterns and innovative cards, hearts and Russian “matrioska” (absolutely unique), Xmas tree cones and table decorations, as well as candle holders!
And Paola herself is going to share with us the secrets behind this lovely creations, delighting our eyes and our soul, when getting closer to Christmas, sharing with us the “Tricks of the trade” to finish them and give them our personal mark
Everything of course, without sitting at our desk as if we were at school
, but treating ourselves with some good shopping, among the wonders of our warehouse, which we’ll be glad to guide you through!
We’re looking forward to meeting you on the 5th of November!
